There’s something about weddings in the UK that just hits differently. Maybe it’s the way history and landscape sit side by side; crumbling stone walls, wild moorland, Georgian townhouses, weather that does its own thing. It’s unpredictable and understated in the best possible way. And when it all comes together, there’s this beautiful sense of grounded magic that feels uniquely British.
Some of my favourite weddings have happened in unexpected places. A back garden in Devon, a windswept Scottish hillside, a tucked-away pub in London. It’s not about grandeur, it’s about feeling. About the people, the place, and how it all comes to life in that particular moment in time. You don’t need to go far for it to feel extraordinary.
And when it rains (because it probably will)? It adds to it. The coziness, the texture, the way people huddle in close and forget about anything that doesn’t matter. From a filmmaker’s perspective, that kind of atmosphere is gold. It makes everything feel rich and real.
My approach to cinematography is quiet and intentional. I’m there to watch, listen, and capture what’s already happening, without forcing anything. Whether it’s a countryside celebration or something more urban and offbeat, I want your film to feel like you. Honest, emotional, and full of the little things you might not have even noticed at the time. That’s the good stuff. And it’s everywhere here, right on our doorstep.
